Hi, Does anyone know a postcode for the SatNav for the XC at Kendal on Saturday, or have simple instructions from J36 on the M6? Thank you.

With over 1300 racing in the Great North West Half Marathon at Blackpool with conditions very challenging to say the least in a very high class field Kona bound International Triathlete Joe Duckworth had a superb race to finish 24th in 1 hr 21 mins and 40 secs. Alison Parkinson clocked a very creditable 1:58:46 with fellow athlete Cathy Karn finishing just over the 2 hr mark for the 13+ mile course.

Hi all, since I had to move down south I have some club tri kit I can't really use any more! Have ladies tri suit (£30), cycling shorts (£20) and short sleeve cycling jersey (£20) all in size medium if anyone's interested. All in good condition, tri suit only used 3 times and cycling kit not much more. Photos available on request, prices are suggested, open to reasonable offers. Cheers, Viv.

In the Preston Parkrun Robert Walsh produced a scintillating performance to finish in under 20 minutes clocking 19:20. A short distance down the road at Cuerden in the same series Stephen Cummins finished on 25:54 with Ian Grace next (29:34) and first female Joanne Heron closely behind (29:53). Completing the line-up vets John Minton (32:25) and Mike Coppin (41:23) all had secure runs.

Central Lancs 5Km - just four runners chose to represent Chorley for the opening fixture of the Central Lancs Grand-prix series.

Senior champion Paul Wareing (83) once again led the way with a time of 20:05, closely followed by Phil Iddon (89; 20:11). Then came Mike Hendry a little further back (132; 21:50), and a battling Mike Coppin (283; 37:12) coming back from injury with a decent club performance.

South East XC in Salford is not full, and there will be lots of mud to play in.

Parbold Hill race is apparently full, which is a shame because I was looking forward to running over those crisp, dry fields (ahem!)

There is always tomorrow's Central Lancs Grand Prix 5K fixture at Bolton - team of 10 needed - 10.30 start at Leverhulme Park.

A really big well done to the 16 athletes who competed in today's final SportsHall event. Everyone achieved personal bests, and Chorley ended up 6th team overall in Lancashire. Special mention to Holly Brookes, U15G, whose 1 girl 'team' came 4th overall & fantastic personal best 7.69m in the shot. Ben Hughes achieved Athlete of the Match in his age, for 3 1sts & 1 2nd place with 3 PBs. Martin Rimmer, Jack Hughes, Amelia Bowles, Lauren Prince and Finlay Campbell all won individual points. However, we were so proud how all athletes competed in the relays, with every single person helping to get team points. Well done to Matthew Brown, Joseph Chadwick, Jamie Rimmer, Erin Boardman, Isobelle Farron, Alice Singleton, Tia Fyfe, Amber Boardman & Zara Johnson.

Well done to all runners who braved the horrible weather at todays xc. I found it hard battling the wind so extra credit to all those younger athletes who ran superbly and did themselves proud.

If you haven't tackled enough hills in the Blackburn XC course, then there is always Sunday's Blackburn winter warmer road race to have a go at (also at Witton). Junior race at 10am, Seniors 11.00 - first counter in the Chorley Road and Trail Grand Prix too!

Water bottles- sorry Ainsley hasn't realised I won't be at the cricket club to sell bottles (change in my circumstances!). Will try and sell when I can when I can get down to sessions. If any other coaches/helpers want to sell them please contact one of us! Thanks. They are very good quality, sold at few at Brinscall baths last week!

We now have Chorley water bottles available for sale at £4. Most people use water bottles so why not support your club at the same time? They are really good quality 500ml bottles in the club colours and with the logo. they are translucent, have a measure bar and a wide top, all perfect for being able to see volume and add energy products. They also have a name bar, and a soft valve for comfort. I will always have some with me at the Monday night sessions at Holy Cross as will Junior Tri coach Nicola and most Thursday night sessions at the cricket club. Feel free though to text me if you want a bottle, I can drop off within Chorley no bother or get them to a session of your choice. Thanks, Ainsley 07912466202

For lesser mortals, International Race Walker and Chief Coach, John Payn ventured indoors at the City of London Indoor Games at Lee Valley Athletics Centre. Known for his dislike of indoor venues, this being only his second one indoors, John completed the 3K course in an admirable 21 mins 44 secs on the cambered track.

The Spine Race is promoted as Britain’s most brutal race. The longest, coldest and most demanding mountain marathon in Britain is over 268 miles of ice, snow, cold and savage winds. Competitors have 7 days to complete the race. Chorley's veteran intrepid runner Dave Lee completed the event in 19th place in 158 hrs 54 mins. All at the club would like to congratulate Dave for this outstanding achievement.

Parents/Guardians/members A few members of the club have done some excellent work supported by Triathlon England and Lancashire Sport Partnership to submit a bid for the development of junior triathlon within our Club. You may already have noticed some of the swimming and running sessions and seen some emails on the subject To give more information and help with any queries, we are arranging an information evening at Tatton at 7.00 to 8.00 on Wed 12.2 (Tatton is on Windermere Road off Eaves Lane behind Stagecoach). There will be information about athlete development, race distances, structure pathways, triathlon training, facilities and training sessions as well as details about our bid and where we are up to. Its a fantastic facility and we need lots of support and help from parents/guardians and volunteers to deliver such opportunities in the Chorley area. So please come along, find out what there is on offer, and ask any questions you have, as well as seeing how you can support the development of the Junior athletes into seniors. There will also be an opportunity to purchase Triathlon England membership at a discount, so any seniors who haven't yet signed up, but are considering doing some triathlons this year, then this event will also interest you!

The weekend's bad weather did not deter Chorley runners competing in the Northern Cross Country event at Knowsley Safari Park. Caitlin McCarrick was first back for Chorley's U13 girls, only just beating Alisha Ibitoye in positions 151 and 153 respectively, with Charlotte Lavin not too far behind. U13 male Ben Hughes had a good run to finish in 115, followed by the rest of the team Josh Letch, Luke Hunter and Scott Gouldthorpe. Vets Barry Chester and Phil McCullagh were the only two seniors to test themselves over the gruelling course, finishing in 548 and 579 place.

Darren Fishwick was first Chorley runner back in the Annual Stanbury Splash fell race with Mark Ellithorn just 8 places behind him in 68th place, with team mates Paul Wareing(165), Bill Beckett(167), Gary Platt(193) and Steve Baker(344) not too far behind. Lynne Clough had a good race to finish 123rd, supported by Jacqueline Redmayne in 297.
