The Interclub series of races are split into two distinct competitions... road and fell.
Interclub road races are simple ... just turn up at the start and run.
Race distances tend to be 4 to 5 miles, and involve athletes (15+ years old*) from Chorley, Preston, Wesham, Blackpool, Red Rose, Thornton and Lytham. Club kit must be worn. There is no pre-race registration but you must wear a number. The numbers area pre-allocated, and the same number will be worn for all races within a season. Numbers may be picked from Steve Baker at the first race. Results are courtesy of John Schofield's website.
Races are very friendly, social affairs, with a great turnout from all clubs and a very wide variety of abilities. If you have never raced before, there are no better races that these for getting a no-pressure taster. There is also food provided after each race.
There are 4 races in the fell competition, but unlike the road races these are encompassed within existing fell races. Therefore, they are not free to enter.
* recent UKA ruling has caused the minimum age to increase from 14 to 15.
