The proposed training at Holy Cross this Friday, 14th June is cancelled due to the school hall being unavailable.For those junior athletes who wish to practice long jump, this will go ahead at Horwich track on Thursdays (weather permitting)

Well done to our 4 juniors who took part in the west houghton aquathlon yesterday. It was everybody's first time at a multi sport event. We had athletes in the S1, S2, T3 and youth categories. They did fantastically well, making the club proud! Lets hope we build on this success!

Last desperate call for the ladies in the club. We need 1500 m and 3000m runners on Sunday at Hyndburn. These events are never well represented by any of the teams so always big points if attempted. You can just turn up for the race ( a warm up for some of you) then go home. Any age ( over 16) and ability welcome.

Astley Trail
We are aware of some issues with regard to some finishers in the Junior Trail Race. We are seeking to resolve these a.s.a.p. Once these are resolved, prizes for first boy and girl, over 11 and under 11 will be awarded, in addition to the normal series prizes.

If any Juniors are wanting to take part in the West Houghton Aquathlon (Swim then run) this Sunday 9th June you need to enter by tomorrow (4th.) There are 2 distances to choose from. Novice and TriStar; if your new to Multidiscipline sport and want to try Triathlon events this year this will be a great place to start as the technical bike element will not be involved. I have enquired about the 1st Primary League results; there is some delay due to Natalie who puts the results on the Wigan website being extremely busy. I have been reassured they will be available asap.
Well done to PJ Holden, Caitlin McCarrick and Charlotte Lavin for terrific running in the 1st Horwich junior 1 mile race on Wednesday evening this week.The next race in this series is 19th June 7pm start, registration in the village hall,next to Rivington Primary school.
Apologies for a printing error on my latest training schedule - Thursday 8th August reads Holy Cross school at the end (that shouldn't be there !)Training is at Horwich track.

Many congratulations to Caitlin McCarrick, Charlotte Lavin and PJ Holden who competed in the Belmont Junior Fell race yesterday, achieving fantastic results.
Caitlin was 1st in the under 12s girls, and Charlotte 3rd in her 2nd fell running event.
PJ also finished 1st in the boys under 12s event with a clear lead over the 2nd positioned boy. This was also the 2nd fell race for PJ. The club are proud of the three juniors who were so successful , the race took place in wet and windy conditions too. Thankyou be proud of yourselves, Jan.
