Cheers Simon, no there was definitely no returns slip. We ordered 2, Ainsley's is fine. Don't worry about it, I've found a phone number I'll ring them Monday. Thing is still wont know what size Women's vest to get. Downside of online shopping I guess! There isn't anywhere to try them on first is there?

Hi Laura, was there a returns slip in the package that was sent to you? All online shops should provide this. If not, I will try and find out how to return foods.

A lovely sunny day at Hyndburn where Scott and Dominic competed in the Lancs Combined Events Quadrathlons. Dominic finished in 2nd place in the Y7/8 with PB's in all 4 events : 100m 14.7, vortex throw 24.95m, long jump 3.86m and a great run to win the 800m in 2.59.1 and almost close the gap on the overall winner. Scott also delivered 4 PB's in the Y6 event with a win in the 75m in 11.3, 2nd in standing long jump with 1.91m, let down with a poor vortex throw of 16.54m but then a superb win in the 600m to take over 10 seconds off last years best with 1.56.8 and 3rd overall.
A good day and also finished ahead of schedule - if only the Mid Lancs could do the same!

Just bought a new small men's vest from Hexx online, and it doesn't fit. Need to return it, can't find any info on how to. Anyone know, or alternatively need a brand new running vest for £15. Thanks, Laura

Alan Jones (Lostock) has just informed me that the annual charity treasure hunt is on from his house (Rawlinson Lane, Adlington) on Wednesday 24th April from 6pm onwards. It costs £5.00 per person and you can make up teams of however many you want. Pizza after included in £5. This event is fantastic fun - you get a run and to practice orienteering skills with mates! Please support this if you can.

Got to say a belated very well done to Joe Duckworth for his 2hr 53min. run in the recent Blackpool marathon, in 10th position overall.

Well done to all juniors who braved the weather today. Finlay Campbell T2 & Jack Hughes T1 finished excellent 11th and 6th respectively in their first duathlons (run, bike, run) at a dry Halton.
At a wet and windy Wigan, Amber Boardman, Emily Warren, Niall Maloney and PJ Holden U11 had a good first track & field competition with Niall winning the long jump. Ben Hughes U13 competed well in new events 100m & 800m (this in driving rain!), and came third in long jump. Georgia Martin & Holly Brookes U15 started their outdoor season well with a 3rd place for Georgia in 100m, and PB throws for Holly in shot and javelin. A good start to all for the coming months.

Thanks for the tip Ainsley. Glad you enjoyed the Radcliffe race- it's certainly one that I'd like to do.
Well done to Paul Wareing (41:43, 50th) and you (45:45, 105) for flying the flag for team Chorley!
It's just a pity that there weren't enough of out with you to make up a full team - 8 runners short! :o(

Just done Radcliffe 10k. Put it in the diary for next year. Tough and lumpy but great course. Lovin the simplicity, regularity and availability of these club races.

Oops - forgot to mention that I believe it's an 11.00am start in Radcliffe tomorrow...see form at link below.

Laura - I've never done the race before but it says "multi-terrain" on the race application form, and says:
"EXPLORE PARTS OF THE TRAIL, THE ROADS AND PATHS OF RINGLEY AND THE STING IN THE TAIL OFF THE CANAL...."
In terms of footwear, I would have thought that trail shoes should be okay, or trainers with a grip that you don't mind getting a bit muddy (depending on how much it rains later!).

Is the Radcliffe 10k road or trail? Events page says road, message board says trail. Anyone know? Also what time?

Anybody doing Wardle Skyline tomorrow and want to share a car?

Simon
Stuck for something to do this weekend? Look no further!
Wardle Skyline fell race and Radcliffe Trail race are club supported races on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Plenty of miles to work up an appetite for that sprint BBQ :)

Great to see lots of Chorley runners and supporters in Blackpool tonight. Results normally take a few days to emerge, and I will post on this web site when I get them.

The 2012/13 Mid-Lancs XC awards ceremony took place in Bamber Bridge where Chorley had some measure of success particularly with the teams where the mens 'A' team were 2nd and have gained promotion to Division 2, with the 'B' team also doing well in 3rd place. The mens Vet 40 team was 3rd, the Vet 50 team 11th and the Vet 60s won silver medals with a strong runners up position to Clayton-le-Moors. The ladies unfortunately could only finish 6th despite sterling runs from Lynne Clough who picked up an individual award as 4th lady overall and 3rd LV40. Chorley's only other individual award winner was Adam Sciacca who was the 2nd junior being only pipped by the very narrowest of margins. It is unfortunate that the Mid-Lancs does not award U11s teams as Chorley has an excellent and consistent group of performers, both boys and girls teams were 2nd in the Lancashire Championships, who would surely have been in the mix as probable team medalists. Altogether 210 runs were made by 73 athletes over the 6 Mid-Lancs races by Chorley athletes.

Given the poor spring weather it was refreshing for some athletes to have a chance to compete without blizzard conditions.
For the Triathletes it was the short course Carr Hill Sprint Triathlon that's attracted two club members.
First home in an excellent time was Jonathon Mann finishing 7th overall in 74:07 with Joanne Heron following in 33rd place clocking 106:42
