Regarding vests ,i agree tom.seems strange when we got viga, fastrax and ron hill on our door step .are we under some line of contract with hex.

£20.50 for a Hexx Texx vest. I'll better cherrish the one I have - inter club and XC only, easy on the bleach (as mud won't come out)and hold on until something more appropriate eventually comes along!

junction at standish onto the a5209 head for parbold hill go over the top
when you get to the botttom do not take the right turn into the village but stay on the road past the restaurant on the left then turn left onto higher lane stay on this road until you get to beacon country park on the right

Sunday 3rd March is the 2nd CLGP 2013 race of the Trotters(5) trail race from Smithills Coaching House, Bolton where we need to improve on our failure in the first CLGP race at the Central Lancs(5K) at which Chorley only turned out 6 runners against our expected quota of 10 - please be there.
Finally to a Chorley host race of Roddlesworth Roller(Snr) & Daffodil Doddle(Jnr) on Sunday 10th March from Abbey Village at which it would be good if as many Club members as possible could turn out for marshaling or running - Simon Townsend is the race master.

After these celebrations all should assemble at Beacon Park, Skelmersdale the next day Saturday(2nd March) for the last MLs XC of the year where Chorley is in promotional positions for the men assuming a good turnout, and a demotional position for the ladies needing saved by also a good turn out.

This Friday is the award presentation for the Red Rose XC series which finished before Christmas, and is in the RMI Club, Horwich at 20:00. The Chorley award winners who should be there are :- U11(Ben Hughes), U17(Katie Minihan), Ladies(Lynne Clough), Vet Ladies(Lynne Clough), Ladies Team(Lynne Clough, Anna-Maria Crabtree, Gail Farnworth, Sara Parkinson, Nicki Rushton & Natasha Fellowes), V55(Dave Kershaw), V60(Barry Chester), V65 Team(John Minton, Les Paul, Henry Minorczyk, Dave Lee, Eddie Murray, Tom Hilton & Mike Coppin) and probably V70(John Minton). Anyone wishing to attend will need a ticket and should contact Anna-Maria.

Congratulations to the juniors who've come 7th across Lancashire in the SportsHall league. U11 boys came fantastic 2nd, U11 girls 7th, U13 boys & girls both came 7th & U15 girls came very close 4th place, with only 2 competitors in each age group. Evie Barclay U13 got all points in her age group. Apologies, but Ben Hughes does deserve an extra mention as he won all his 4 events today! Well done to all who competed over the season. We hope this gives you a good start to the track & field this summer. We've learnt some tactics for next season as well! :-)

Our club is affiliated to Cycling Time Trials and also Lakes and Lancs SpoCo Time Trials. These are ideal events for triathletes and anybody who would like to race on a bike. See links for more details. The Cycling Time Trial website is particularly informative for novice riders.

Chorley male vets made an appearance among the 500 runners at the Parbold Hill Race. A very muddy race, meant that shoe choice was all important...unfortunately Barry Chester’s shoes fell apart before the 2nd mile. Martin Quinn was first back for Chorley in an excellent 81st place. Simon Townsend was 152nd, with Graham Schofield and Adrian Fairhurst not far behind in 183rd and 203rd respectively, placing as 15th male team. Lee Bochiccho was 274th and Tom Hilton finished 458th.

Once again Chorleys youngsters were the ones flying the flag in the SE Lancs at Boggart Hole Clough - or from what I'm hearing it should be renamed 'Boggy' Hole Clough. Scott had his best run in a Chorley vest to finish in a fantastic 3rd place backed up well by Luke in 11th in the U11 boys and Emily fought her way through the draining mud to finish 14th in the U11 girls.
It must have been bad because Scott jumped straight into the bath without being told! Many thanks to the Hunters for providing a taxi service.

I believe that Parbold Hill race is now full. If you're disappointed and still want your Saturday afternoon fix of mud then the final SEL XC is at Boggart Hole tomorrow.
After the 3rd XC race at Leigh I was passed some tickets to the cross-country Centenary Presentation on Friday 8 March at Horwich RMI Club at 7.30pm, £3/ticket or £4 on the door. Apparently there's a disco and supper, and even a raffle.
Please let me know if anyone wishes to make a home for any of these tickets - otherwise I will return them to the organisers.

Thank you to parents/guardians who were able to attend the parents meeting at Holy Cross school last night, Your comments and suggestions were greatly appreciated; i am now more positive that we can develop the primary/junior section. All that was said by any of you will be taken on board.
Just a reminder to all young athletes who attend any of my sessions; there is a rest week from training week commencing 18th February. Training starts again 25th Feb.
We are at Water Street today , meet 6.30pm and Horwich track Thursday , meet 7pm.

Just back from the swimathon. Well done to all who took part. Team Exodus managed to just get the winning number of laps swum in the event, 57, and all 3 lanes achieved 141 in total. Thanks Alison for organising. Anyone who wants to add to the sponsorship collection please give to Alison Fowler, Mike Mason or myself. Ben & Jack are still smiling after 2 events today. Roll on Junior triathlon! ;)
