The SEL's XC at Clayton Vale Country Park on Sat. 17th November is at the junction of Bank Bridge Rd and Riverpark Road in Manchester. U11s are 13:00 to the seniors at 14:30.

Great news ... just received police authorisation and Arc insurance for the 25th running of the Roddlesworth Roller/Daffodil Doddle races on 1th March 2013. This is a club organised event, so please add to your diary for running next year.

On the Fells Darren Fishwick went to Hebden Bridge for the very boggy Wadsworth Half Trog fell race over 9.2mile, 1400ft climb, finishing 8th in 1hr 23mins but more importantly had an inspired run to claim the 1st vet 40 spot.Leaving sunny Lancashire behind, four of the club's fell runners headed up to rain soaked Cumbria for the Dunnerdale fell race over 5miles with 1800ft of ascent. First home in an excellent 12th was Dominic Raby (44.54) followed by Darren Fishwick (29th 47.22),Peter Starkey (168th 63.51) and Graham Schofield (220th 74.04).

Very well done to the 14 juniors who took part in the Lancashire Sports Hall event today. Excellent performances all round & a full boys & girls & mixed team in U11. U15 Charlotte Walsh & Holly Brookes both getting placings in events. Hope some of your performances earn you places in the Lancashire team. You all worked very hard.

Still in Yorkshire at the Great Whernside fell race (4mile, 1600ft) Darren Fishwick finished a superb 18th in 37.32mins.

Four club stalwarts crossed the border into Yorkshire for the Withins Skyline fell race (7mile, 1000ft) with Darren again leading the club home in 29th place ( 51mins).Vet Peter Starkey finished a creditable 219th, 1hr 7mins. Paul Jackson guided Sarah Heys on only her 3rd fell race, Sarah finished superbly in 291st place on 1hr 24mins.,Paul 292nd, 1hr 24mins.

Three Chorley runners went to the Lakes for the technically difficult, Langdale Horseshoe fell race, (14mile, 4800ft.) Darren finished 43rd in 2hrs 44mins followed by Paul Jackson taking the 202nd spot in 3hrs 34mins closely followed by Graham Schofield (237th, 3hrs 45mins).

Congratulations to Mike Bullock who won first prize (solo cat) in Thruscross reservoir 5 hour challenge today- his prize was the biggest pork pie you can imagine! The aim was to run as many hilly laps of the reservoir in 5 hours.
