Today I went to the helm hill fell race at Kendal. It was not bad conditions but there was a lot of pushing at the start.When I got to the top of the hill I was tired but I was able to speed down the hill. When I got about 20m away from the finish I fell but I still managed to come 2nd. I am looking forward to next Saturday at Sedbergh!

The Tom Tittiman(4) fell race at Hebden Bridge housed Darren Fishwick in 13th place(32:48).

Luke Betts had a good two days in Gateshead at the English Schools Track and Field.Friday he ran a fantastic heat in the 800m, winning it in 1.54 and looking good. On saturday at 10.30am he lined up for the final in front of a large crowd.Coming to the bell in 2nd place the 'Kick' came early and had to settle for 6th place with the whole field in a 2 second spread. Well done Luke, a good experience. Now the Northerns next Sunday in Hull.

Hi Simon, thouroughly enjoyed last nights park race, even helping out a little wasn't as traumatic as I thought it would be, small field, but congratulations all who took part, We enjoy watching and are willing to help in any small capacity that we can. Thank you all for your successes.

The conditions improved during the evening, and you all had some great events. Congratulations to Lauren Prince Yr3 for 2nd in Cricket ball & 3rd in 600m; Jack Hughes Yr3 for 1sts in 600m & Long Jump & 2nd in 150m; Cai Smith Yr4 for 3rd in Javelin; Maddison Bretherton Yr5 for 3rd 600m; Scott Gouldthorpe Yr5 1st 1200m & 2nd 75m & Long Jump; & Ben Hughes Yr5 with 3 1sts 150m, 600m & Long Jump. I have the medals for all those who attended.

It's the last Junior and Adult Park Series race this Friday night. Runners and helpers needed. Hopefully not as wet as last time.

The local Harrock Hill fell race(5.5 miles) had a good contingent of Chorley athletes competing for trays of fruit & vegetables. Adam Sciacca again had a great race being 3rd and a stride ahead of Keith Johnston(4th). Martin Quinn(30th) was just in front of first lady Lynne Clough(33rd) being hounded by Robert Major(41st), Paul Jackson(44th), Hassan Khattab(45th) and Gary Platt(48th). Laura Livesey(77th) got the better of Paul Wareing(86th), Jonathan Burgess(91st) and Henry Minorczyk(93rd). Graham Schofield(115th) and Mark Bond(118th) came next comfortably ahead of Jonathan Betts(164th), Phil McCullagh(167th), Rachael Clarke(169th), Alison Fowler(170th) and James Shuttleworth(171st). Tom Hilton was 181st with Mike Coppin getting round in 186th. Adam Sciacca, Lynne Clough and Henry Minorczyk were all first in their categories and won boxes with Keith Johnston for being 4th overall. Chorley's mens and ladies teams were both 3rd.

The new vests should be worn in all disciplines except the T&F and the XC where teams are participating. The T&F and the XC will change to the new vests in September at the beginning of the new seasons.

ran the colne cricket club 10k last night a tough testing undulating course part of the burnley grand prix of events finishing just behind andy buttery of rossendale surprised to see i was the only solitary runner from chorley.
