The Primary League results are now available from last week's meeting at Wigan.

Well done to all, particularly those who attended for the first time and/or tried new events. The next Primary track & field event is 25th May to which all Chorley Primary age children can attend. Register on the night. There's then a final medal meeting 6th July, but you have to have attended 1 of the previous events to qualify. Hope you can get some practice in before then too!

Fantastic 5th placed (first V40) finish for Julian Goudge at the Belmont Winter Hill fell race on Saturday, chased by Paul Jackson (37), David Williams (52), Michael Hendry (60-survived the swamp!) and Jacqueline Redmayne (63 and 5th lady).

At a windy Lancashire Champs 3 of Stuarts Athletes took to the podium in the u20 800m. Zac Howe with Bronze, Ryan Sciacca Silver, Luke Betts Gold. Fergus just missed out on the Final in the u17 800m running in a slower 2nd heat.Luke also won the u20 1500m on saturday with Adam Sciacca coming 4th with a new pb {4.17} well done everyone

In answer to Simon's query about Junior Section: We're hoping to promote events a lot more. There is a strong U11 group within the AC section, with younger ones following strongly behind. We've got a lot to learn as Junior Secretary (joint with husband Nick), but we're hoping to pull together a list of all events Juniors can attend & get some Chorley atheletes to as many as possible this next year. Tonight a group are going to the Primary League event at Robin Park Wigan. No experience necessary, just a willingness to join in (up to & including Yr 6)! What age are your children and what are they interested in?

in answer to simon i take the track session on thursday and off road on tuesday i do not know what ages your kids are but my number is on the web site and if you could give me a ring and i will speak with you i have three athletes that were menbers of horwich but now 2 have joined blackburn but still train on thursday with us they have been welcomed into the group and also have helped to make the group stronger so i hope this has been a benifit to all .. i hope this shows that we welcome all athletes it is for them that i coach

Sorry for my ignornance but do we have any news on the Merger between the 2 Chroley Clubs? Will there be opportunities for my sons to train with the Athletes from AC? particularly track sessions? How focussed is the club on promoting the Junior Section? I take my lad to races and is wearing his Chorley Harrier Vest but at the moment there seems little point in him doing so? Thank you

English FV40 bronze medalist Lynne Clough finished 74th and 3rd female in the Stanbury Splash chased from afar by Graham Schofield in 332nd on a course where the FV60 record(66:57) is still held by Chorley's Jan Atkins from 2006. Wardle Skyline(7) again featured Graham Schofield in 136th place with Bunny Run 1 at Haworth having Tara Bleasdale 112th and Bunny Run 2 Alison Fowler 243rd & Jan Atkins 269th.

Luke Betts is in very good current form setting a new 1500m PB of 3min 56:42 in a Manchester Track and Field meeting.

Recent road races saw Phil McCullagh 75th(26:08) & Tom Hilton 89th(30:17) and 1st V65 in Preston's Chernobyl(5K), Steven Wilde 71st(24:07) in the Salford(5K) at Heaton Park, and Adrian Fairhurst making a comeback in the Bolton(10K) in a very useful 125th place(47:07) from a field of 600.
