Message for all primary age athletes; the next primary league competition meeting at Robin Park, Wigan between Chorley, Wigan and Horwich is on the 11th May.As the 1st meeting was on the same evening as the 1st Park series race Chorley was not greatly represented in numbers; so let's change this at the next meeting and show everyone what talented young athletes Chorley has got, and we will have a fun evening.If you need anymore information please contact me. I wish to clear up some misapprehensions re the CAC Club awards and their calculations for the fell, road & XC. These awards, given out on the 29th March'12, were for the CAC performances only and not for 'CAC and other Clubs' ie although the bases are the I/C races & XC leagues the CAC results are lifted out onto a separate listing such that if A was 1st and B 10th in the I/C when lifted out onto the CAC list A would be 1st & B 2nd - in the I/C list there is a difference of 9 points but on the CAC list only 1 - this may give different results which is reasonable as in the I/C you are competing with a different range of athletes as to CAC only athletes. The I/C & XC results are mathematically different to the CAC only results covering different nos of athletes as explained above. I have compiled these results over the last few years in the same way I have inherited them, and having been forced to now analyse the method, believe it to be correct. However one aspect which is different is that the I/C & XC results are 3 from 4 or 4 from 5 etc formats whereas the CAC ones are 'all' races ; this of course makes a big difference where races are missed and is perhaps an improvement that might be considered by whomsoever does the future compilations. Should anyone not understand what I am saying (or disagrees) and wishes to discuss please contact me.

Steve Rothwell(4) at Rochdale with Michael Chalfont(23:18) in 14th place and again at the Hyndburn 10K (36:21) in 5th & 1st V40. The Catforth Village(7) also contained a posse of Chorley runners with Ian Crabtree 9th(44:42) as 1st V45, Rachael Clarke 89th(60:28) and Shelley Parkinson 99th(63:35) as 1st FV50. On the hills Darren Fishwick was 23rd and Andrew Clough 46th in the Midgley Moor(8K) at Halifax.

Luke went to stretford today to run the first BMC meet of the season. He was down as pace maker but Tom Lancashire decided to be pace instead.Luke was put in the 1500m 'B' race. All his hard training over the winter paid off with a fantastic 3mins56.42secs a new pb. The first 800m of the race he covered in 2mins 4secs. well done Luke!

Scott ran the Pendle Fell Race today having a great run to finish 10th in the under 10s boys and 2nd in Lancs. Don't think there were any other chorley runners in the junior races but I think there were a few in the senior race.
