I am asking all our Club members who possibly can to offer their sevices in either competing or helping on this day when CAC are being asked to take its turn in putting on a Mid Lancs XC event. In the first instance I need a couple of volunteers for car park duty at St Lawrence's CE school(Highfield Rd South) starting from 11:00 am on that day. Please ring me at 01257.241451.

The CAC Committee endorses all the lovely comments about Jan on the web site and elsewhere and can only thank her for her dramatic invigoration of the junior section which we hope we can keep going to her standard. We all hope that her circumstances improve enough to allow her to come back to us, and to that end we will wave a magic wand with a great deal of hope.

Red Rose XC at Bolton 12/11/11. Again Ethan Joyce was omitted from the results in the U11s(he finished a good 37th) and I have emailed the league to get corrected, but I wonder if the Joyces can confirm that the No. he ran in was 1232? Either on this message board or ring me on 01257.241451.

Thankyou to Zoe and family for your lovely message;it was very much appreciated.Ethan,Joseph and Jacob are wonderful boys. They have great parents; i know they will make you proud and achieve much success in their lives.It has been a privilege and a pleasure knowing you. Thankyou to Catherine and Adam for your lovely message; i have been quite tearful this week - it is so hard having to let go of something i love doing, helping children and young people achieve in sport to the best of their ability.
Reuben and Jonah are brilliant to work with; their enthusiasm inspired me.
I am sad not to able to continue to watch their progress; with fantastic supportive parents as you are they will make great sports people.

Thankyou for your thoughtful and very meaningful messages; i appreciate them so much.
I feel sad and upset to have to leave something that has given me so much pleasure over the past year.
I have loved seeing young athletes develop ; the determination shown by all the youngsters i have been coaching has been in the spirit of the sport ; this is inspiring for adults to watch .
I believe whole heartedly in listening to children and young people as being the best way to help them, no matter what their interests in life maybe.
Adults can learn from children as well as them from us.
I will definitely come and see you all at some of the future races.
Take care ; and thankyou for giving me the opportunity to be involved in something i love.

I would at least an hour before start of race to check the course. From memory it is usually pretty muddy, so wellies may be needed.

thanks to everyone for your understanding i knew this was coming because i knew the pressure she has been under lately. jan has worked hard and has built up a base that i hope will carry on i am sure that you will see jan at some point in the future even if it is just to support at some race some where. i will try to help with the younger group and hope others can rally round but i will always look on them as jans group becase i have always been impressed with the way that she has worked with them. i will try to work out somesort of training with her for training because i respect her imput so will speak to you all on monday

Regretfully, due to increasing work pressures and difficult personal circumstances, i am unable to continue coaching young athletes at Chorley A.C. This has been a hard decision for me to make; i will miss you all and have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the club.
I send a big thankyou to all the athletes i have had the privelage to work with; hopefully you will continue working hard and achieve to your individual potential.
I would also like to thank all the parents who have supported me during training sessions and various races and competitions during the last year.
I wish you all good health and much happiness for the future.

CAC argued that 'athletic' covered all the running disciplines thus making the addition of 'Tri' unnecessary, but Harriers countered that Tri was not seen to be covered by the UKA(ie athletics as we know it) and that mostly Tri Clubs were separate entities eg Preston Harriers/Preston Tri & Bolton Harriers/Bolton Tri, but Harriers wished to emphasie that 'Chorley AC & Tri' were one Club. I find their points reasonable enough not to contest it, and, I do not believe the name too worriesome to run under.
