Cuerden Valley XC information for Saturday.
There are 6 car parks surrounding Cuerden Valley Park all charging £1 and all requiring a walk into the competition area. Don't park on access roads some of which are private. Those with local knowledge may decide one car park suits them better than another but otherwise park in the main car park at PR5 6BY.Directions to the main car park at PR5 6BY:Leave the M6 at J29 and turn west onto the A6 then as below.orFrom the M65 carry on to the end of the motorway, turn north on the A6 and at the next roundabout turn right onto the A6 then as below. At crossroads turn south on Wigan Road, the A49, passing 2 car parks and follow directions to Sue Ryder Trust. Turn 2nd left onto Berkeley Drive and continue over a speed hump and on to the main path bearing right to the first car park to your left.Notes:Car parking charge-£1.00and all car parks required a walk to the competition area.

If you fancy a hilly park run, then the one in Lancaster is for you. Starting and finishing at the Ashton Memorial on the top of Williamson Park, it was never going to be a flat course, but undaunted by the promise of some serious hills Simon and Anya Townsend with 300 fellow park runners decided to give it a go. The course is hilly and twisty, but is very picturesque, once the usual crowded Parkrun start is eventually cleared. Simon came home in 38th in a time of 23:35, with Anya (just getting back into running) in 127th and a time of 28:49. The course is a two lap course, passing the Aston Memorial at the end of each lap. As a consequence it is probably a little tougher than the Cuerden Valley course; but very much recommended :D

To all junior members - We have 3 XC fixtures left in 2015/16 season and thankfully teams Chorley have a very good platform to be amongst both the Mid-Lancs & SE Lancs team and individual awards, so at Rossall School this Saturday, Boggart Hole next Saturday and Worden Park on 5th March it is very important that we support these meetings.
Seniors - You are involved in a promotion battle re the V40s which you missed by 1 point last year, so please lets have support from everybody to secure this promotion this year (V40 includes everybody 40+ & those under 40 are needed to push the 40+ers !).
Thanks in anticipation Stan.

Hello Everyone,
I am messaging on behalf of my University club (Lancaster University) who are hosting an event again this year and have done reasonably successfully the last 2 years. The event will take place on Saturday 12th March at Uclan Sports Arena, Preston. We are looking for officials and volunteers to aid in this event, which for some members is their first ever event and is a great way of getting new people into athletics. The officials will be offered a free lunch and £5 towards petrol costs.
If any of you would be interested in helping out could please contact me on 07999808149 or Ben Francis (Person in charge of organising the event on 07753318181)
Thanks1 :)

There are a number of us at the club whom are going to attempt the Sandman Triathlon later this year in September. We are planning on making a weekend of it and possibly camp for the weekend making it a club trip ..yippee!
There are two events on offer - a sprint tri on the Saturday and a full tri on the Sunday. For anyone mad enough, people can enter the two events at a discount known as the 'Sandman weekender'.
So if anyone is thinking of doing a tri this year and would like to join us, please let me know so I can keep you informed of further developments re the weekend.
Please note, entries are discounted till 31st January and then they go up in price. SO if you want to join us, enter asap.
Details can be found on the website
http://angleseysandman.com/ and more details re camping etc will be given out nearer the time.
Finally, if anyone wants to just come for the weekend and watch, that would also be fab.

Just a few lines - normally I would have corresponded at the end of the 2015/16 XC season, however performances attained at the Lancs Champs at Witton Park, Blackburn encouraged me to report earlier than anticipated. Chorley provided Lancs champions at U11 girls and bronze awards at U13 girls & U13 boys, a fully earned and deserved result for a fine special combined team display. Experience gained will remain with Chorley historically giving confidence to all junior members for the remainder of the season 2015/16 ; senior members will also benefit in the long term. Signs of solid progress have been shown by Chorley, both at the Mid-Lancs & Red Rose fixtures. Record attendances, commitment and support of the athletes, coaches and parents are very much appreciated. Also inroads in Chorley's first full season in the South East League have given us favourable results. I realise Chorley is still a young Club, and patience and belief will be required in the future years to continue and prosper. However we do posses one key ingredient (as highlighted at Blackburn by our juniors) which is potential, so let us use this special gift in every discipline to help Chorley progress.
